Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

An Ancient healthcare system established in China approximately 2500 years ago which now practiced across the globe.

Treatment involves inserting extremely fine needles into specific points in the body to regulate the flow of Qi (chee). Qi can be loosely translated as ‘life force’ and travels along pathways in the body known in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as meridians.

In TCM theory, illness can be categorised in terms of deficiency, excess or blockage of Qi in these pathways and treatment aims to restore normal balance of Qi.

Acupuncture views the body holistically in a way that treats the whole person, taking into account both physical and mental factors. It works to identify the root cause of problems and by doing so helps the body to access its own incredible capacity to heal.
